Ghost Rider

48in x 36in x 1.5in // oil on duct canvas // $2180

This large piece was based off of a photo by Dustin Lalik, an amazing photographer up in BC. This was my first take at a mountain biking subject matter - an activity I have come to love more than the rest over the last few years. I wanted to make the rider feel a part of the surroundings and features - totally in sync.

SOLD -Tail Slap

24in x 48in x 2in // oil on duct canvas // $2840

This large piece was based off of a photo by Arian Stevens, an incredible photographer I’ve had the opportunity to work with. I wanted to try something with a minimal composition, that evoked the feeling of solitude right before the explosive hit on the line. There are some really fun nuances in the water on this one!

SOLD - Fish Eye Fly

24in x 48in x 2in // oil on duct canvas // $3871

This large piece was based off of a photo by Arian Stevens, an incredible photographer I’ve had the opportunity to work with. The perspective is very unique and the colors really spoke to me — all of my favorite blues and gnarly greens. I’ve heard many time that this one takes a moment to understand what is happening, and I think that’s the beauty of it. An overall graphic feel that says a lot when you take a closer look. It’s a stunner in real life and currently on display, go have a look if you’re in Bend!

SOLD - Half Shells

24in x 30in x 2in // oil on duct canvas // $2268

Plucking barnacle-y shells off the beach and tossing them into gallon buckets - my earliest memory of oysters. I didn't eat them at that point, they still grossed me out. But dad eventually warmed me up to them. First by grilling them over the fire on a homemade swing grill, topping them with cocktail sauce, then a little less cocktail sauce, then a little more raw, and before I knew it I was slurping them nectar and all right off the beach. And these days my favorite way to eat an oyster - shucked with a splash of tequila right in the shell. This painting is loose and colorful with loads of texture.

Rainbow Fin

16in x 20in x 2in // Oil on duct canvas // $1362

Based on photo by Arian Stevens, this simple view of a rainbow trout fin will look familiar to any angler. I found it neat that the reflections in the water created a literal rainbow and really wanted to play with that concept. These colors are a must see in person, they’ve been very hard to translate digitally — It brings a lot more life when you see it in person.

SOLD - Trees by Sage

40in x 30in x 2in // Oil on canvas // $1868

Have you ever seen an image and it looks just so right that it parks something unexplainable in your mind? That's how I felt when I saw this photo snap by Sage Cattabriga-Alosa, local pro skier. I felt really inspired and reached out asking to paint it - to my surprise he agreed and allowed me to create my version on canvas, Resulting in "Trees by Sage". This is one of my recent favorites, the long shadow composition is unexpected but very familiar - last chair and a lucky find.
